SEND Teaching Assistant

• Annual Salary: £100 per day minimum
• Location: Plymouth, Devon
• Job Type: Full-time

We are seeking a committed and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team, supporting pupils across both primary and secondary age ranges with additional learning and emotional needs. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in education or those with strong transferable skills who are keen to work in a specialist SEND environment.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Work closely with teaching staff to support pupils with a range of special educational needs.
• Help pupils engage with learning, develop confidence, and feel safe and supported throughout the school day.
• Deliver support on a one-to-one basis, in small groups, or within alternative learning environments.
• Due to the nature of the provision, flexibility, resilience, and a calm approach are essential.
• This role requires travel between locations, so access to a car and appropriate business insurance is essential.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Patient, calm, and emotionally resilient.
• Confident in supporting children and young people with SEND.
• Flexible and adaptable to varied settings and needs.
• Comfortable working across both primary and secondary age groups.
• Experience in education, care, or support roles, or able to demonstrate strong transferable skills.
• Able to travel independently as part of the role.
• Previous school experience is welcomed but not essential.
