Preservation and Maintenance Manager - Nuclear Infrastructure Project
Location: Reading (onsite)
Contract Duration: 9 Months possibility of extensions
Rate: £550 per day Outside IR35
Potential for partial remote work in future, subject to project requirements
We are currently seeking an experienced Preservation and Maintenance Manager to join a major nuclear infrastructure project in the UK. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a technically complex, high-security environment supporting national defence. You'll work on one of the most challenging construction projects in the UK, ensuring specialist equipment and systems remain in top condition throughout their lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the preservation and operational maintenance process across the project lifecycle.
- Manage and audit contractors to ensure compliance with preservation standards.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to enforce the project's preservation process.
- Identify new assets and establish appropriate maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate records using the Asset Management System (AMS).
- Ensure all activities align with OP-852 procedures and licensing conditions.
- Provide regular performance updates to Construction and Commissioning Managers.
- Act as a subject matter expert within the business.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in preservation and maintenance within large, complex facilities.
- Strong background in developing and managing maintenance strategies.
- Previous experience in defence, nuclear, or other highly regulated technical sectors (preferred).
- Degree in engineering or equivalent professional experience.
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV) clearance.
