Job Description

We are looking to expand our current team of multi-skillednurses. We have a part time role of 30 hours covering Monday - Friday available, hours and days are negotiable depending on skills.

Main duties of the job

Main job responsibilities are:

  • Cytology
  • Wound care / ulcer care / Doppler / Removal of Sutures
  • Chronic disease management especially COPD, Asthma
  • Routine immunisations/childhood immunisations
  • Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician
  • Contraception services
  • Undertaking home visits as required
  • Well-people checks
  • Providing general advice and guidance to patients / health promotion

These are to name but a few of the skills required but we are willing to provide training to the successful candidate.

About us

We are looking for a Practice Nurse to join our team. We are a busy but friendly GP practice in Dartford. Our clinical team has 5 GP partners, 4 salaried GPs. We are a GP training practice and have a list size of approximately 15,500 registered patients.

Job responsibilities

Assist and perform routinetasks related to patient care as directed by senior nursing staff and GPs

Interest in Diabetes orCoronary Heart Disease (desirable)

Cytology

Wound care / Ulcer care/Doppler/compression bandaging

Travel Health

Removal of Sutures

Venepuncture

Routine immunisations/Childhoodimmunisations

Chaperoning and assistingpatients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician

Requesting pathology tests, forexample urine culture, swabs

Following agreed clinicalprotocols with referral to senior nurses or GPs as appropriate

Other tasks will include

Maintain general tidiness andcleanliness of nurses and treatment rooms, including stocking and rotatingitems as required

Maintaining and cleaning equipmentused by the nurses

Participation in administrativesystems in the Practice

At all times there will be aneed to maintain accurate records

Attend and participate in anyPractice meetings when required

Any other delegated dutiesappropriate to the post

Person Specification Qualifications
  • GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
  • Previous Primary Care experience
