GP Practice Nurse - 22 hours per week initially, with view to increased hours in the future.
Based in a modern purpose built medical centre in the heart of Tewkesbury, opposite the community hospital we are looking for a registered nurse to join our dedicated nursing team.
A specialist interest/qualification in COPD and sexual health is a must for our team due to retirement of a long standing team member.
We are looking for someone who thrives as part of a team and enjoys working collaboratively with colleagues across all areas of the practice.
Working Pattern: (minimum hours required)
Tuesday 08 00 6 hrs
Friday 08.00 - 17.00 8hrs
Inclusion Enhanced Access rota - Monday evening(6.30pm to 8pm) and Saturday morning (8.30am to 12.30pm) (additional pay)

Main duties of the jobKey responsibilities
- Deliver nurse-led COPD reviews, including assessment, monitoring and patient education/self-management support in practice and visiting housebound patients and care homes.
- Administer vaccines and participate in vaccination clinics at the practice and also visiting housebound patients when required.
- Provide sexual health services, including contraception advice, reviews, initiation, contraceptive implant fitting and removal (desirable but not essential). STI screening (where locally commissioned), and health promotion.
- Support chronic disease management and preventative care in line with practice protocols, national and local guidelines.
- Experience in wound care, ECGs, vaccinations and injections.
- Registered Nurse (RN) with current NMC registration, at least 1 year post qualification working experience in a RN post.
- Experience in general practice nursing and long-term condition clinics.
- Demonstrable experience and specialist interest and qualification in COPD/Asthma.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work autonomously within agreed clinical protocols.
- Commitment to high standards of patient care, safety, and confidentiality.
- Immunisations and cervical screening competencies.
