Job Description

MPA Group Practices are looking for an enthusiastic Receptionists/Practice Administrator to work at the Sunlight Centre with excellent interpersonal, customer service and organisational skills to work across the Group Practice. The Group Practice covers five sites across Medway and Swale with a 30,600 patient list size.

Working Pattern: We offer flexible working with both full-time and part-time opportunities available. Please note that flexibility relates to the number of hours worked, and applicants must be able to work within our operating hours of 8:00am to 6:30pm.

Main duties of the job

Applicants will be required to work on a busy reception desk, dealing with patients both over the telephone and face to face, while providing a friendly and professional service. The role also involves working in the back office, carrying out a range of clinical administration tasks to support the wider practice team and ensuring the smooth running of daily operations.

Previous reception, administration and/or customer service experience is desirable, along with strong communication skills, the ability to work in a fast paced environment, and good organisation skills.

MPA Ltd is a GP Federation delivering multiple clinical services across Medway and Swale; this includes Primary Care Services at Castle and Maidstone Road Surgery and MPA Group Practices, Home Visiting Service and supporting PCNs with the delivery of Enhanced Access Hours.

Experience
  • Experience of using clinical or patent administration systems (e.g EMIS)
  • Experience in an office or administrative environment
  • Experience working in Primary Care
  • Experience of providing customer service and dealing with members of the public
  • Experience of working within an NHS or Healthcare Setting
Qualifications
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
  • Qualification in Customer Care or Business Administration
Skills
  • Ability to handle a high volume of telephone calls professionally and efficiently
  • Competent in Microsoft Outlook, Word and other Microsoft Office applicationsDemonstrate effective conflict resolution and communication skills when dealing with challenging patient situations
