Job Description

MontgomeryGroup are currently working on a range of exciting plans to develop our eventsand content in order to connect and inspire our communities even more. As partof those plans, we are looking for a PR & Content Assistant to joinour team based in central London.

This is agreat opportunity for someone looking to start or develop their career in PR,content and events. Working across both the PR and Content teams, the role willprovide support across our portfolio of food, drink and hospitalityexhibitions, including Food, Drink & Hospitality Week.

The rolewill involve a mixture of administration, research, writing and communicationwith speakers, journalists, exhibitors and industry partners. You do not needextensive professional experience, but you should be curious, organised,confident in your writing and keen to learn about the industries andcommunities our events serve.

ABOUT YOU

Thesuccessful applicant will be enthusiastic, organised and eager to learn. Youmay be a recent graduate, in your first communications or events role, orlooking to begin a career in PR, content or live events.

You shouldenjoy writing and researching unfamiliar subjects, be comfortable communicatingwith different people and have excellent attention to detail. You will need tobe able to work across multiple events and projects at the same time, keepingtrack of deadlines and ensuring information remains accurate and up to date.

You shouldalso be happy to get involved in live events, from supporting speakers andjournalists onsite to attending industry events and networking opportunities.

The PR andContent teams aim to develop and grow our audiences, build the profile of ourevents and, more importantly, fulfil our broader mission of supporting ourcommunities to innovate, connect and build a better future.

THIS ROLEREQUIRES SOMEONE WITH:
  • Strongwritten and verbal communication skills, with good spelling and grammar.
  • Excellentorganisational skills and attention to detail.
  • An interestin researching new subjects, industries and trends.
  • Confidencecommunicating professionally by email, telephone and in person.
  • The abilityto work across different teams and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • A proactiveapproach and willingness to ask questions, respond to feedback and develop newskills.
  • Familiaritywith Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • An interestin PR, editorial content and live events.
  • An interestin the food, drink and hospitality industries.
  • Flexibilityto attend events and occasionally work outside standard office hours.

Previousexperience, an internship or volunteering within PR, media, marketing,publishing or events would be helpful, but is not essential. We are moreinterested in your potential, enthusiasm and willingness to learn.

KEYRESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provideday-to-day administrative support to the PR and Content teams.
  • Maintainspeaker trackers, media databases, coverage reports, schedules and sharedresources.
  • Researchindustry news, trends, organisations, potential event topics and prospectivespeakers.
  • Helpidentify relevant speakers and contributors for live content programmes.
  • Draftspeaker invitations and other routine correspondence for review.
  • Liaise withconfirmed speakers to collect biographies, headshots, session information andpresentation materials.
  • Ensurespeakers receive the correct information, deadlines and event details in thelead-up to each event.
  • Helpmaintain event programmes and speaker information across websites and otherdigital platforms.
  • Assist withcreating and maintaining stage PowerPoint presentations.
  • Support thedelivery of seminar programmes and speaker activity onsite at live events.
  • Researchexhibitors, partners, speakers and industry developments to identify potentialPR and editorial stories.
  • Assist withdrafting press releases, news stories, articles, interviews, blogs and websitecontent.
  • Repurposeexisting content for websites, newsletters, LinkedIn and other marketingchannels.
  • Help prepareand distribute approved press releases and other media materials.
  • Monitorindustry news and flag potential PR and content opportunities.
  • Track mediacoverage and maintain accurate reporting.
  • Helpcoordinate interviews involving journalists, speakers, exhibitors, partners andevent spokespeople.
  • Supportpress office activity before and during live events.
  • Attendexhibitions, networking events, launches and awards ceremonies when required.
  • Contributeideas for stories, event sessions and other content.
  • UseAI-powered tools to support research, writing, administration and productivity.
