Anexciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and self motivatedAdvanced Practice Physiotherapist to lead our newly developed PerinatalPelvic Health Service at Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust. The successfulapplicant with be highly skilled, proficient and confident in the deliveryof evidence-based assessments and treatments for a wide variety of perinatalpelvic Health Conditions.

Inthis role, you will provide clinical leadership to the Perinatal PelvicHealth Service contributing to the delivery of the service against nationallyagreed service specification. The role will also provide clinical andleadership support to our Urogynaecology Physiotherapy Service. The role willinvolve both clinical delivery to an advanced level often working outside thescope of normally physiotherapy practice to ensure efficient and effectivecare for a diverse perinatal patient population. In line with the AdvancePractice Pillars the successful candidate will also be expected todemonstrate leadership qualities alongside active involvement in bothresearch and education of others. The successful candidate with work closelywith the wider MDT including but not limited to the midwifery service,Urogynaecology Physiotherapy and Obstetric Physiotherapy Team.

Tolead the clinical development of this specialist team. You will be required to ensure effectivecommunication is maintained at all times, whilst providing training, support,supervision and clinical expertise to qualified and unqualified staff andstudents.

Beaccountable for the clinical standards, evidence based practice and qualitymetrics within the speciality. Including the evaluation of the service againstnational and local guidelines and frameworks.

Totake a lead role in the advanced assessment, diagnosis and treatment of themost highly complex caseload within this specialist field using both advancedphysiotherapeutic skills and skills which may have traditionally beenundertaken by medics.

Reportinto the Outpatient Physiotherapy Clinical Service Manager and ClinicalSpecialist Urogynaecology Physiotherapists to ensure the appropriate training,education and clinical support is offered to services supporting the deliveryof the Perinatal Pelvic Health Pathway.

Tolead and support audit, patient engagement and research projects, in relationto Pelvic Health services in order to advance service delivery.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • Degree in physiotherapy or equivalent
  • HCPC registration
  • Completion or currently working towards and MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice (Pelvic Health)
  • Member of CSP
  • Post graduate qualification appropriate to the speciality
Experience
  • Post graduate clinical experience having worked at a senior level in relevant clinical field.
  • Working knowledge of critical appraisal, audit and outcome measures
  • Supervisory skills
  • Knowledge of research
Other criteria
  • Ability to pass on skills/knowledge to others within formal and informal environments
  • Contributes to the development of services provides leadership to ensure service provision to specified clinical areas
  • Ability to cope working in a stressful environment including the ability to impact information on a daily basis regarding poor prognosis for rehabilitation.
  • Able to deal with emotional or aggressive patients and carers.
