The consultant will support projects at various phases by conducting studies. Scope includes:
- Create and validate EMT and RMS models for relevant assets (e.g., WTG, PPC, STATCOM, as applicable).
- Plan and execute design and Grid Code compliance studies, small disturbances and fault scenarios.
- Draft clear, audit-ready technical documentation for internal review and external compliance; contribute to grid connection workstreams.
- Interface with OEMs on model provisioning, validation, and parameterization.
- Summarize findings, recommend mitigations, and ensure quality in line with client standards across multiple projects.
- Degree in Electrical/Power Systems Engineering (BEng/MSc/PhD) or equivalent.
- At least 5 years' hands on experience with PSCAD for EMT studies, including applicable add ons and analysis modules, plus required experience with DIgSILENT PowerFactory covering steady state and RMS analyses.
- Experience working with vendor models and parameterization for compliance.
- Scripting/automation skills for workflows and post processing.
- Experience coordinating with OEMs for model delivery, validation, and updates. strong data confidentiality practices
- Strong communication skills; able to produce clear reports and stakeholder materials.
- Ability to work independently while following clients established methodologies, documentation standards, and QA processes.
- Experience with National Grid ESO EMT guidelines and evidence requirements.
- Experience with grid forming controls or advanced STATCOM functionalities.
- Client will supply a laptop and all necessary software licenses and access.
- No additional certifications required.
- No travel required; the role is fully remote.
- Contract basis, billed per hour or per day.
- Flexible allocation subject to project demands and priorities.
