Opened in April 2017, the Centre is the national hub for HVDC modelling and simulation, knowledge exchange, and research. We use state-of-the-art high-performance computing facilities to model and resolve complex issues before they impact on the delivery or operation of HVDC projects. Our globally recognised work helps to ensure the integrity and security of GB energy supplies as we transition to a net zero network.

- Strong technical knowledge of electricity transmission networks, with an understanding of core network components and ideally experience in HVDC and/or FACTS technologies.
- Knowledge of safe systems of work within laboratory or datacentre environments, including the operation of high value computing equipment, complex data networks, and customer facing facilities.
- The ability to communicate complex technical information clearly, producing well-structured technical reports and engaging effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- A collaborative and motivated approach, working effectively with others to deliver high quality outcomes and support the continued growth of a world leading organisation.
