Job Description

An international energy trading and services company, focused on renewables seeks a Power Market Strategy Manager to join its growing team. With operations across the UK, Ireland & wider Europe, the company provides cutting-edge trading services to a growing portfolio of renewable energy assets.

The Role:

The successful candidate will lead a team of analysts to structure and value energy contracts including PPAs, RtMs, and BESS agreements. This strategic role involves close collaboration with commercial and analytics teams to develop pricing frameworks, optimise risk-adjusted returns, and support expansion across European markets.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Manage and mentor a team of pricing analysts, ensuring high-quality output and professional growth.
  • Present pricing insights to senior leadership, encouraging constructive challenge and continuous improvement.

Pricing Strategy & Modelling

  • Lead the development and enhancement of pricing models, including historical, Monte Carlo, and fundamental approaches (e.g. PLEXOS).
  • Maintain transparent pricing frameworks aligned with risk appetite and commercial priorities.
  • Monitor market and regulatory changes to refine pricing strategies and identify new product opportunities.

Collaboration & Structuring

  • Work closely with Originators to design and structure bespoke commercial offers, including PPAs, hedging instruments, and tolling agreements.
  • Develop pricing frameworks for complex structures such as co-located assets (e.g. BESS with solar/wind) and merchant-exposed revenue streams.
  • Leverage internal analytics to enhance BESS valuation and optimisation.
Key Requirements:
  • 5-10 years' experience in energy markets
  • Strong background in renewable pricing and electricity systems
  • Proficiency in Excel, SQL, Python; experience with dispatch models (e.g. PLEXOS)
  • Leadership and mentoring capabilities
Desirable:
  • Experience with BESS structures and German RtM agreements
  • Track record in new product development or market entry
