Power Electronics Engineer

A leading research and technology organisation in Newport is looking for aPower Electronics Engineerto join their growing R&D team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting edge technologies within a hands on, innovative environment.

• Designing and developing power electronics hardware and software
• Circuit design, simulation, modelling and prototyping
• Schematic capture, PCB layout and documentation
• Testing, validation and fault investigation (including FMEA)
• Working with suppliers and supporting full product lifecycle development

• Strong background inpower electronics(essential)
• Industry experience in design, development and testing
• Schematic capture & PCB layout skills
• C/C++ programming
• Degree in a relevant engineering discipline

MSc/PhD, Chartered status, automotive or safety critical experience (e.g., ISO 26262), broader analogue/digital/thermal/EMI design exposure.

• Practical, organised and technically curious
• Strong communicator who works well across teams
• Positive, flexible and proactive
• Able to manage workload and meet project deadlines

• Circa £60k salary (experience dependent)
