Postdoctoral Research Scientist - Tooting

Background

The group studies lymphovascular diseases, specifically primary lymphoedema. Our work has focused on the genetic causes of lymphatic failure.

Responsibilities

You will be based at City St George's University London (Tooting Campus) working in the Lymphovascular Research group. The role will involve investigating and determining causativeness of gene mutations for primary lymphoedema, using mainly site directed mutagenesis, cell culture methodologies, antibody based protein detection and imaging techniques.

Person Specification

You will have a background in cell biology and molecular biology, ideally with proven work experience at senior level in the field of biomedical research. Detailed knowledge of the lymphatic system is not essential, but a good understanding of lymphatic biology and function will be valuable. An academic interest and initiative allowing development of the lymphatic molecular genetics programme at CSG will be advantageous. Strong organisational, time management and communication skills are essential. Applicants who demonstrate academic ambition, initiative and independent thinking are particularly welcomed.
