Postdoctoral Research Associate in Structure Determination for Materials Discovery
Posted 13 hours 36 minutes ago by Technical University of Denmark
We are seeking an outstanding researcher with expertise in advanced structural characterisation to lead in solving the structures of complex extended inorganic mateirals on a materials discovery project.
The successful candidate will join the ERC Advanced Grant project MaterED (Materials Discovery: from Exploration towards Design). The project is led by Professor Matt Rosseinsky OBE FRS, who is a world leading chemist in the discovery of functional inorganic materials. The project integrates experimental synthesis, advanced characterisation, and computational modelling to enable structure-driven materials discovery, targeting systems with unconventional atomic arrangements and emergent properties, and is inspired by the recent discovery of a superionic lithium ion conductor (Science, 2024, 383, 739).
You will work within a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary environment that brings together expertise in chemistry, physics, and computer science. Success in this role requires the ability to engage effectively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and career stage.
If you are still awaiting your PhD to be awarded you will be appointed at Grade 6, spine point 30. Upon written confirmation that you have been awarded your PhD, your salary will be increased to Grade 7, spine point 31.
