Job Description
Background

The Department of Sociology and Criminology is a leading centre for research, with 88% of research submitted to REF 2021 rated as world leading (4 ) or internationally excellent (3 ) quality, placing it 5th in the UK and 1st in London. It supports the Centre for Online Safety, Safeguarding, Privacy and Identity (COSPI) and its co directors, Professors Myers and Rajarajan.

Responsibilities
  • Identify funding opportunities and support preparation of research grant applications.
  • Contribute to design and delivery of research projects.
  • Design questionnaires, collect and analyse data, conduct research interviews, and support stakeholder engagement.
  • Develop and deliver school based training and CPD programmes.
  • Execute project administration and contribute to knowledge exchange and impact activities that enhance the work of COSPI.
Person Specification
  • Postgraduate qualification in Sociology, Criminology or a very relevant discipline with experience of social science research.
  • Keen interest in debates surrounding online safety.
  • Strong qualitative and/or quantitative research skills, including data collection, analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organisational and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience with funding applications, training development, project coordination, and working within a higher education or research environment (advantageous).
