We are seeking a Postdoctoral Neuroscientist to investigate neuronal mechanisms of memory using state-of-the-art tools available in rodents, including electrophysiology, calcium imaging, optogenetics, and behavioral methods.
This project is part of a broader research program aimed at using cross-species studies to understand memory mechanisms in health and disease. The successful candidate will collaborate with team members to design parallel tasks for rodents and humans and apply comparable analytical approaches across species. Insights gained from rodent cell and circuit mechanisms will inform our understanding of human cognition and behavior.
The postholder will join the Barron Group at the MRC BNDU and OxCIN, which has a strong reputation in cross-species research on brain circuits involved in memory. The project will leverage the excellent infrastructure, technical expertise, and resources available at these institutions.
