In this position, you will be involved in developing and refining embedded firmware and control systems using languages such as C and C++. You will work alongside experienced engineers, contributing to the engineering lifecycle from implementation to performance optimisation and documentation within a collaborative team setting.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should have a PhD in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems or a closely related field, with a solid foundation in electronics and embedded firmware development. Demonstrable experience in designing, testing, and deploying embedded software and systems is expected.

Required Expertise, Skills

The successful applicant will have strong embedded systems proficiency, including firmware development in C/C++, familiarity with hardware interfacing and control logic, and the ability to troubleshoot and optimise embedded code on real hardware platforms. Practical experience with microcontrollers, real time systems, and scientific instrumentation will enhance research and engineering contributions. Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills will support effective collaboration with multidisciplinary colleagues.

This role offers a competitive salary range of £40,000 to £48,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
