Job Description
Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow post for a funded research project exploring suicidality among older adult users of social care.

The project is based at Goldsmiths University supervised by Dr Hilary Norman and Dr Rebecca Charlton (Psychology), in collaboration with Dr Lisa Marzano, Dr Bastien Chabe-Ferret and Pam Hodges (Middlesex University), Dr Manuela Deidda (University of Glasgow) and Louise Keane and Scarlett MacDonald (social care practitioners and co chairs of strategic nurse advisory councils in London and the South East respectively).

The post holder will be responsible for working with stakeholders, including experts by experience; developing research objectives and processes; obtaining ethical approval; and conducting research involving primary data collection and analysis (predominantly qualitative, plus quantitative surveys). The project is based at Goldsmiths University of London, and some travel will be required within England.

Applicants should have a PhD in psychology, or in another field relevant to the project; strong qualitative and quantitative research skills; experience with participatory research is desirable; publishing experience in peer reviewed journals; the ability to work independently; and excellent interpersonal, written and oral skills. A DBS check will be required.

This post is full time and will be offered on a fixed term basis up to 31 August 2028, with a start date as soon as possible. Salary will be Grade 7 up to Spine Point 36 of the Goldsmiths Salary Scale (annual salary £44,753 - £49,738).
