About the Role: Everest International GWS is the International general insurance operating division of Everest Group, with around $1.5 billion of premium. The division covers London Wholesale and FAC with lines spanning Property, Casualty, Financial Lines, Marine, Energy, Aviation, Industry Practices, Credit and Political Risks and A&H. This role is based in London and sits in the International Portfolio & Performance Management team, collaborating daily with underwriting, actuarial, and senior stakeholders across multiple regions and lines.

Role Purpose: To support performance management and key decisions by leveraging and improving MI related to profit optimization, planning, reinsurance purchase, underwriting appetite and risk management.

Key Accountabilities
  • Portfolio Reviews

  • Support portfolio performance and review packs on a periodic basis, including data preparation, analysis and presentation preparation; work with teams to carry out deep dives into portfolio profitability; present results to senior management.

  • Performance Board

  • Support the Head of Portfolio and Performance Management to run the Performance Board, including setting agenda, providing insights, and collating and presenting packs.

  • Rate Adequacy

  • Support development of rate adequacy measures and frameworks; produce hurdle combined ratios for international business, including expense and capital allocations; embed rate adequacy frameworks within company systems and underwriting processes; provide trainings; present results to senior management.

  • MI and Reporting

  • Periodic price monitoring (RARC) reporting; rate adequacy reporting; collaborate with Pricing, Reserving, Underwriting, Ceded, Claims, Finance and Exposure Management to pull portfolio and performance metrics, reports and MI for informed business decisions.

  • Others

  • Support pricing calibration and planning assumptions with Pricing and Reserving; handle queries on International business; support actuarial projects to improve data, processes, and systems.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, Statistics, or similar

  • Qualified or nearly qualified actuary

  • 5+ years of actuarial or pricing experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
  • Proficient in Excel, Access, VBA, SQL (R or Python desirable)

  • Strong technical and analytical skills

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Ability to operate effectively at all levels and gain trust of colleagues and senior management

  • Ability to work across teams and regions

  • Ability to take ownership and work under own initiatives
