The key purpose and function of this Policy and Research role within the Policy and Participation team at NICCY is to conduct policy analysis, research, and reviews of services, law, and practice to safeguard and promote the rights and best interests of children in Northern Ireland.
Policy and Research Officer (Full-time, 37 hours)Grade: Staff Officer (SO) £35,560 - £36,783 (awaiting August 2025 pay award)
Purpose of Role:
This position plays a central role in supporting the development of NICCY's Policy and Participation Team.
The post-holder will contribute to reviewing the adequacy and effectiveness of law and practice related to children's rights in Northern Ireland. The role involves supporting the Senior Policy and Research Officer, Head of Department, and Commissioner in providing advice on children's rights to stakeholders such as the Northern Ireland Assembly, Northern Ireland Executive Departments, public authorities, UK/EU monitoring bodies, United Nations treaty bodies, and civil society where required.
