Policy & Assurance Guidance Consultant

We are seeking an experienced SC Security Cleared Policy & Assurance Guidance Consultant to support the development of a new assurance framework. This role is centred around producing high-quality policy, governance and guidance documentation, and collaborating with a range of stakeholders in a regulated environment.

This is a policy-first role. Knowledge of cyber, security or assurance frameworks is an advantage but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the drafting, structuring and refinement of policy, assurance, audit and reporting guidance
• Translate regulatory, governance and operational requirements into clear written outputs
• Engage with senior stakeholders across policy, compliance, risk and operational teams
• Plan and manage delivery of documentation to agreed timelines
• Present recommendations clearly and iterate drafts based on feedback
• Ensure consistent style, clarity and governance across all deliverables

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience drafting policy, guidance, frameworks or regulatory documentation
• Excellent written English and ability to communicate complex information simply
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication capability
• Experience in regulated or public-sector environments
• Strong planning, organisation and document-delivery management skills
• Active SC Clearance

Desirable

• Understanding of assurance, governance, audit, or compliance principles
• Awareness of cyber or information governance (advantage but not essential)
