Job Description
Part time Personal Assistant

I am a 17 year old person living in the Beddau area with my family and pets.

I use they/them pronouns, experience non epileptic seizures and feelings of anxiety, am diagnosed with autism, and tire easily, so I use a wheelchair on longer days.

I enjoy colouring, playing piano, cooking and ice skating.

Purpose of Job

I am looking for a PA to support me to access the community, take part in social activities and develop my social skills, with the aim of making me more independent.

Hours of Work

6 hours per week during term time and 12 hours during school holidays.

During term time I would like the PA to work 4 hours on a Monday and 2 hours on a Wednesday. During holidays the schedule is more flexible.

Part hours are acceptable if you cannot commit to both days.

Rates of Pay

£13.50 per hour and 40p per mile where applicable.

Tasks Involved
  • Take me ice skating.
  • Support me to use public transport.
  • Go out for a coffee.
  • Help me cook at home.
  • Show me how to complete domestic tasks.
  • Potentially learn lines with me.
  • Build up to going swimming one day.
  • Help me develop social skills.
  • Potentially attend a club together.
  • Ensure my safety and watch for signs of me tiring during activities.
Type of Person Required
  • Someone with a good sense of humour.
  • Very friendly and kind.
  • Happy to work in a home with pets; liking dogs and cats is a bonus.
  • Someone who is not shy or quiet.
  • Calm in case of seizures.
  • Good awareness/experience working with neurodivergence, autism, or mental health.
  • A car driver with business class insurance.
About the Job

Though a part time job, this will be a proper position requiring a National Insurance number. A trial period will be necessary initially. The wage will be paid monthly, with appropriate holiday pay given.

The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check, the cost of which will be met by the employer (Local Authority). Relevant checks will ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK.
