Platform Software Engineer -(ON PREM)

Our client, a leader in the defence and security sector, is seeking a skilled Platform Software Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. This role is primarily remote with occasional travel to Warton and Reading, and is part of the Air Business Unit.

Key Responsibilities:

• Developing and maintaining software solutions for defence and security applications
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and specifications
• Conducting software testing and debugging to ensure high-quality deliverables
• Providing technical support and troubleshooting for existing software platforms
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the software engineering team
• Documenting software designs, processes, and procedures
• Travelling occasionally to Warton and Reading as required

Job Requirements:

• Experience in software engineering and development
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles and methodologies
• Proficiency in software development languages and tools
• Ability to work effectively in a remote setup with occasional travel
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to obtain and maintain BPSS + SC security clearance
• Effective communication and collaboration skills
• Experience in the defence and security sector is a plus

Contract Details:

• Duration: 12 months
• Fully remote with some travel to Warton and Reading
• Expenses can be claimed for travel to Reading
