A large civils' contractor is currently looking for a permanent Plant Mechanic based out of their yard in Portadown.
Your new role
You will be required to service various plant machinery alongside HGV and commercial vans. The hours are Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 5.00pm. Duties will also include:
Maintenance & Repair
- Perform routine servicing on plant machinery (e.g., excavators, dumpers, telehandlers, generators, compressors).
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults.
- Carry out repairs, component replacements, and system overhauls.
- Ensure accurate fault-finding using diagnostic tools and technical manuals.
Inspection & Compliance
- Conduct pre-use and periodic inspections to ensure equipment safety.
- Maintain compliance with relevant regulations and safety standards.
- Complete service logs, repair reports, and maintenance records.
Operational Support
- Respond to breakdowns promptly to minimise downtime.
- Support site teams with equipment set-up and operational readiness.
- Assist with equipment upgrades, modifications, or commissioning.
Health, Safety & Environment
- Follow all site safety protocols and risk assessments.
- Ensure tools and equipment are used safely and correctly.
- Promote safe working practices and environmental responsibility.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be required to have:
A minimum of 5 years' experience in working with plant machinery
A full driving licence
