Plant Engineer - Castleford

Smiths Hire are the Northwest's Largest Independent Equipment Hire Company with 18 Hire It Centres located across the region. In a period of expansion, we now have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Plant Engineer at our Castleford depot.

Role: Plant Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Repair, service, and maintain plant machinery.
• Diagnose faults on construction and tool hire equipment.
• Work efficiently under pressure and independently.
• Maintain high standards of health and safety.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Maintain product knowledge and carry out additional tasks as required.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of staff.

Candidate Requirements:

• Experience with repairing, servicing, and maintaining plant machinery.
• Ability to diagnose faults on construction equipment.
• Experience with diesel engines; petrol engine training is available for suitable candidates.
• Full clean UK manual driving licence.
• Good literacy, numeracy, and computer skills.
• Reliable, flexible, and proactive approach.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, no Saturdays.

• Salary dependent on experience.
