Plant and Hire Equipment Technician

We're looking for a hands on, skilled Plant & Hire Equipment Technician to join our Inverness team, playing a key role in keeping our hire fleet safe, maintained, and ready when our customers need it most.

The Role

You'll be at the heart of our operation - making sure equipment is serviced, repaired, and ready to go.

What you'll be doing:

• Servicing, maintaining and preparing plant and hire equipment
• Inspecting, testing and repairing returned hire equipment
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out mechanical repairs
• Completing pre hire and post hire inspections to ensure safety standards are met
• Working closely with the Parts team to source required components
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop
• Setting up and operating equipment in line with manufacturer guidelines
• Accurately completing job records, service sheets and timesheets
• Ensuring equipment is cleaned, checked and ready for the next hire
• Supporting the wider team to maximise equipment availability
• Participating in a 1 in 4 weekend on call rota to support customer needs

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone practical, reliable and proud of the work they do.

• Experience as a plant technician, mechanical technician, agricultural mechanic, small engine mechanic or similar
• Strong fault finding and problem solving skills
• A high level of attention to detail and quality
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Experience with plant, groundcare, agricultural, automotive or small engine equipment is all relevant - if you've worked with machinery, we want to hear from you.
