Job Description

We are looking for a Planning Liaison Manager to lead a team of Engineers and Planners to undertake capacity planning for new development.

What you'll do

We supply over 273 million litres of water every day to 1.4 million customers. Our distribution network includes 231 water sources and treatment centres, 310 service reservoirs and water towers, and 12,149 kilometres of water mains.

As a Planning Liaison Manager, your duties will include:

  • liaising with local planning authorities, developers and third parties on new housing and commercial proposals in our region
  • reviewing and responding to draft local plans and supporting documents
  • applying and developing planning policy for water supply and wastewater infrastructure
  • participating in spatial planning activities and site allocations review
  • reviewing and commenting on planning applications within specified consultation periods
  • developing and maintaining systems for effective regulatory and management reporting
  • engaging with a range of customers and colleagues.

The work is varied within this busy role and can involve tight deadlines, so you'll need to be able to work effectively under pressure, developing and updating the Development Site Assessment Reports in liaison with relevant Wessex Water departments, incorporating capacity and protection information for drainage and water supply services.
