Planning Enforcement Lead

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Town Planning professional to join our busy Development Management team in the role of Planning Enforcement Lead.

In this role you will be the line manager for a team of 3 Planning Enforcement Officers and will have responsibility for the investigation and resolution of breaches of planning control throughout the County Borough. You will also be expected to work with other Lead Officers in the Development Management team and the Head of Service to improve the service and shape its future direction.

To be considered for the role, you must have a degree or post graduate qualification in a relevant subject, relevant experience and hold a valid driving license. Membership of the RTPI would be desirable. You will be expected to demonstrate leadership abilities, have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a desire to deliver a robust and responsive planning enforcement service.

This role allows for a combination of home and office working. You will also be required to undertake site visits and may also be expected to attend Committee meetings. Whilst significant use is made of Zoom and Microsoft Teams, there will also be a requirement to attend in person meetings. In addition, we also offer flexible working arrangements to support you in achieving a positive home/ work balance.
