Physiotherapy Team Lead, Neuro Outpatients

The closing date is 17 December 2025

This is an exciting fixed term/secondment opportunity of 12 months to lead a team of neuro outpatient physiotherapists in the Princess of Wales hospital, who also work out of Dewi Sant Hospital in Pontypridd.

The post holder will be responsible for the day to day management of a team of staff, both clinical and clerical working within the physiotherapy service, participating in recruitment, managing the waiting list and undertaking annual appraisals of members of the team.

They will use highly specialised, advanced clinical reasoning skills in the area of neurology physiotherapy and independently plan and manage their own daily complex caseload; ensuring that patients are seen by the most appropriate healthcare professional.

The post holder will follow professional code of conduct and take a lead role in the post graduate education of physiotherapy colleagues and other professions. They will impart specialist knowledge and skills, guiding further knowledge acquisition and act as a mentor for junior colleagues.

The post holder will undertake relevant research/audit within the Physiotherapy Service, developing an advanced practice portfolio and implementing best practice in line with National Guidelines.

Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn't mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short listing and selecting candidates. This isn't 'fluency', just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.
