Overview

An exciting opportunity has become available in the Mid Argyll Community Hospital and Integrated Care Centre (MACHICC) for a Team Lead, Physiotherapist to work within the small department.

The post holder will be responsible to oversee the inpatient and community case load as well as the MSK service along with APP and orthopaedic triage service.

The Mid Argyll physiotherapist team are enthusiastic and dynamic in supporting not only the patients in the ward or outpatients but are also very committed to the community patients.

The physiotherapy team join other AHPs, SW and DNs to work in partnership with the Urgent Community Response Team and Discharge to Assess model. Both of these models were developed in 2025 with very positive results.

The Team lead will be required to support the team and the wider MDT. Working in partnership is essential in the small community.

The team consist of:

  • Band 7 vacant (team lead post)
  • Band 7 FCP, PH and MSK practitioner
  • Band 6 inpatient and community
  • Band 5 MSK
  • Band 4 inpatients, ward and community

The Team Lead is expected to provide solid leadership, complete annual appraisals, budget management, staff management. Ensure that all standards within physiotherapy comply with the HCPC standards.

Lochgilphead which is situated in the heart of Mid Argyll is an ideal place if you enjoy the countryside and outdoor pursuits. The famous Crinan Canal is ideal for both keen cyclists, runners and walkers.

Oban is 36 miles away and there is a bus service to Glasgow daily. The islands of Islay Jura, Gigha and Arran are accessible by ferries.

Lochgilphead has one main school which is a joint campus for both primary and secondary pupils.

If you feel that you have the experience as a senior practitioner and can demonstrate good leadership and management skills this could be the post for you. You must have a full UK driving licence for this post.

  • Effective from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours. Part-time hours will be adjusted on a pro-rata basis. There will be an increase in the hourly rate to ensure that pay remains unaffected.
