Physiotherapist Team Lead MSK Outpatient

We havean exciting opportunity for a Advanced Physiotherapist at Princess AlexandraHospital NHS Trust to join the MSK Physiotherapy Outpatient Service. You willbe responsible for providing skilled team leadership in planning and deliveringhigh standards of physiotherapy assessment, management, treatment, and adviceto patients attending the MSK outpatient service. You will manage and supportthe advanced assessment and management of patients with complex ormulti-pathology presentations, determining the best delivery of care incollaboration with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT). You will work as anautonomous professional, adhering to the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy(CSP) Rules of Professional Conduct and Standards of Physiotherapy, as wellas the Health Professions Council (HPC) regulations.

Main duties of the job

As anAdvanced Physiotherapist you will be responsible for undertaking servicereviews and audits to evaluate quality, efficiency, and patient outcomes,implementing changes in practice to maintain a high standard of clinical care.You will be responsible for developing professional relationships locally,regionally, and nationally, where required, to support the development ofclinical pathways relevant to the service. You will also take a lead role insupervising, teaching, and appraising physiotherapists, non-qualifiedphysiotherapy staff, students to graduate level, and multi-disciplinary team(MDT) staff, supporting their professional development and ensuring excellencein physiotherapeutic care within this specialty.

Job responsibilities
  • To continue developing highly specialist clinical skills and knowledge bypracticing across a wide range of MSK outpatient conditions, attendingin-service training sessions, and completing specialist personal developmentactivities as identified in individual Personal Development Plans.
  • To maintain personal professional registration and accountability bycomplying with requirements of the relevant professional body, exercisingprofessional responsibility, and following departmental and Trust policies toensure ongoing licensure and safe practice.
  • To plan, organise, and deliver departmental training and educationsessions that support the professional and personal development of staff,ensuring knowledge and skills are consistently enhanced across the team.
  • To ensure accurate, timely, and effective communication with patients,carers, and relevant MDT members regarding patient care, including maintainingcomprehensive clinical records in line with Trust and professional bodystandards.
  • To oversee competency development and clinical education of staff andphysiotherapy students on placement, ensuring all team members achieve andmaintain high standards of practice and clinical outcomes.
  • To lead and actively participate in service improvement initiatives,including research, audits, and data collection, using findings to informclinical practice enhancements and improve patient outcomes.
Person Specification Qualifications
  • HCPC registered Physiotherapist with Degree in Physiotherapy.
  • Advanced MSK outpatient physiotherapy experience.
  • Experience supervising and developing junior staff and students.
  • Proven involvement in audits, service improvement, and evidence-based practice.
  • Knowledge of Moving & Handling, BLS, and SystemOne.

£27.68 an hourRates are inclusive of Base Rate + Holiday Pay
