Cpl Healthcare, on behalf of our client the HSE St Columcille's Hospital are recruiting for a locum staff grade physiotherapist to work in an acute setting rotating across the various wards.
St Columcille's Hospital has 118 beds, of which 110 are in-patient acute beds, while 8 are reserved for acute day case. It is a busy acute level 2 Hospital supporting St. Vincent's University Hospital and serving the South Dublin and Wicklow population.
About the RoleAs a staff grade physiotherapist, you will work as part of multi-disciplinary teams delivering a coordinated approach to client care for the inpatient population in St. Columcille's.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide physiotherapy assessment, treatment and discharge planning to patients in an inpatient setting.
- Accept and manage referrals from NCHD referrals, and Falls/Mobility assessment referrals from Nursing.
- Provide evidence-based assessment, treatment and management of patients referred with conditions including Parkinson's, Stroke, Falls, Orthopaedics, Dementia, Frailty, Cardiovascular and Respiratory conditions, and those medically unwell.
- Carry a clinical caseload appropriate to the post and adopt a client-centred approach to conduct client assessment and the implementation of individualised treatment plans.
- Be responsible for goal setting through clear communication in partnership with the client, family, and other team members as appropriate.
- High standard service provision in varied locations in line with local policy/guidelines within appropriate time allocation (e.g., clinic, home visits).
- Work within own scope of professional competence in line with principles of best practice, professional conduct, and clinical governance whilst seeking advice and supervision when necessary.
- Take responsibility for and keep up to date with Physiotherapy practice by participating in professional development such as reflective practice, in-service, self-directed learning, research, and clinical audits.
- Implement the agreed policies, procedures, and safe professional practices and adhere to relevant legislation, regulations, and standards.
- A recognised qualification as a Physiotherapist with CORU registration.
- Assistants must be working towards CORU registration or in progress.
- Experience in a similar setting desirable, placement experience will be considered.
- Permission to work in Ireland.
