Job Description
Overview

A well-established manufacturing company with multiple UK sites is seeking an experienced software developer to join the team. They are looking for someone with extensive experience across the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, testing, and solution handover. You should be clear, methodical, and organised in your approach, with a calm and professional manner. As the business continues to evolve, they need a developer who can adapt quickly and apply a flexible approach to building effective solutions.

Please note, my client is unable to offer sponsorship for this position, and the candidates must be based locally to Preston due to on-site requirements.

Working Pattern
  • Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (with flexible start/finish times)
  • Option to work a 4-day week
  • 5 days on-site (4 if opting into the 4-day work week)
Key Responsibilities
  • Sole responsibility for the company's check-out system, with full autonomy
  • Assist with gathering and documenting software requirements
  • Estimate project timelines and deliverables
  • Develop and document software solutions
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
  • Collaborate with end users during testing phases
  • Provide regular progress updates on assigned work
Technical Environment

Any knowledge of the Microsoft tech stack is advantageous but not compulsory, as training will be provided. While this role is predominantly focussing on their PHP product, you would be getting involved with the development of their internal software as well, which is all built using C#.
