Job Description

You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging and accessible photography sessions to adult learners. Courses will focus on building confidence with cameras, exploring composition, lighting, editing basics, and developing creative projects. You'll guide learners through both technical and artistic aspects of photography, helping them to progress their skills and nurture their creativity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver structured, engaging lessons for beginner and intermediate level learners.
  • Support a diverse range of adult learners with varying experience levels and learning styles.
  • Provide constructive feedback and assess learner progress.
  • Encourage creativity and individual expression in photography.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, achievement, and learner development.
  • Candidates must demonstrate the understanding of, acceptance and commitment to the principles underlying the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults

This is a sessional tutor role. Our courses are delivered morning, afternoon and evening.

Are you passionate about photography and keen to inspire others?

City CollegePeterborough is looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Photography Tutor to deliver Beginners and Intermediate level courses as part of our thriving Leisure Learning programme.

What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience in photography (professional or strong portfolio-based)
  • Previous delivery of adult photography courses or trainingexperience is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt sessions to suit different learner needs and abilities
  • Enthusiastic, patient, and supportive teaching style
  • Experience using a variety of different cameras and software
  • Experience teaching in adult education or community settings
  • A recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
