We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our busy phlebotomy team at New Cross Hospital.
1x 20-hour position - 5 weekday shifts (varying hours) working at South Staffs GP surgeries and across OPD clinics.
Phlebotomy skills, a current UK driving licence and the use of a car are essential for this role. You must be committed to delivering a high standard of service in line with our Trust values.
Phlebotomy duties include taking blood samples from patients, labelling tubes, and storing samples for Pathology.
Main duties of the jobThe post holder will work as part of a phlebotomy department team and carry out phlebotomy duties in South Staffs GP surgeries, patient homes, residential/nursing homes, and phlebotomy clinics on the hospital site when GP service is not needed. They will respond positively to the changing demands of the service.
Qualifications- Good numeracy and literacy
- Work well within a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to work without direct supervision
- Accurate and legible handwriting/record keeping
- Exposure to bodily fluids
- Experience in healthcare environment
- Working as a team member
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure
- Experience working in the community
