We're looking for an experienced philanthropy specialist who will build and strengthen relationships with existing and potential donors with the ability to make transformational gifts to the Trust. Your background in major gifts or trusts and foundations fundraising, along with your excellent relationship management skills, will help you to develop a compelling proposition for donors. You will need to take the lead, build the donor pipeline and work with our delivery teams, senior advocates and other fundraisers to build lasting partnerships with some of the UK's biggest funders and philanthropists.

Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon and there will be an expectation for you to attend the office. However, there is flexibility on where you are based at other times. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.
What you'll be doing:
- You'll join our fantastic Major Gifts and Grants Team at the National Trust, focused on raising vital funds to support our work.
- You'll directly communicate with our donors both existing and prospective. Really understanding their specific requests and requirements and building mutually beneficial long-term relationships.
- You'll skilfully and articulately engage donors, bringing to life our most pressing priorities.
Who we're looking for
In your application, please provide details of how you meet the criteria below:
- Experience in a philanthropy specialism, with a demonstrable understanding of the arts and heritage and/or environmental funding landscape
- The ability to engage donors, build meaningful long term relationships and deliver effective impact reporting
- Experience in developing and managing relationships with high net worth individuals and charitable trusts with personal experience of securing gifts of £25k plus
- A confident communicator with solid stakeholder management experience and the ability to work across all levels of an organisation
- Experience of donor acquisition and pipeline development
- Experience with Salesforce or another fundraising database
- Experience of using data and insight to develop supporter journeys
- Confident in representing the Trust at events with donors of all levels.
