PhD: Non-destructive In-situ Lithium Plating Diagnostics

WMG at the University of Warwick seeks a PhD student to develop a quantitative, non-destructive diagnostic for metallic lithium plating in industry-relevant cells. The project combines X-ray and neutron diffraction with small-angle scattering to distinguish lithium intercalation from plating and will scale from pouch cells to larger formats.

Responsibilities include evaluating stimuli that trigger plating and contributing to safer operating protocols and predictive models in battery research.
