PhD in Molecular Motors & Trypanosome Flagellum Evolution

The University is inviting applications for a fully funded PhD studentship starting January 2027 in the laboratory of Dr Aakash Mukhopadhyay. The project will investigate the mechanism of the trypanosome intraflagellar transport (IFT) motors and determine how their architecture supports flagellum assembly and function.

Applicants should hold UK upper 2.1 or higher in a relevant subject, and demonstrate motivation for PhD with strong background in cell biology, genetics, or related fields.
