Job Description

Role: PLC Coordinator Academy: Outwood Academy Danum Start Date: As soon as possible Salary (Actual Salary): £24,543.28 until £25,351.73 Working Pattern: 37 hours, term time plus 5 days

Are you dedicated to transforming the educational outcomes for vulnerable students through bespoke support pathways? Join us as a PLC Coordinator, where you will lead the management of the Personalised Learning Centre (PLC) and strategically identify and deliver alternative courses and intervention strategies relevant to specific student cohorts. This role requires a proactive approach to multi-agency collaboration, a passion for mentoring, and a focus on removing barriers to learning.

Welcome from the Principal:

We are an Ofsted Good rated, 11-18 academy in the friendly South Yorkshire town of Doncaster, featuring a thriving sixth form and a transforming campus.

Our recent 2024 OFSTED inspection confirmed we are a 'Good' and 'inclusive school' where 'pupils of every background are provided with the opportunities they need to be successful'

We highly value our staff, offering a truly supportive environment where training and well-being are central to everything we do. We are committed to reducing workload, ensuring staff can focus on our vision: students first, raising standards, and transforming lives.

Our commitment to inclusion and well-being is recognised by the IQM Award and Silver Status from the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health Award. We have also achieved the Eco Schools award and the Leading the Way award for meeting all eight Gatsby Benchmarks, preparing our students for an ever-changing world.

If you share our vision, join our family.

If you have any questions or would like to visit the school, please contact Gail Murphy, SENDO at

Responsibilities

You will identify student cohorts for the alternative curriculum and deliver relevant courses to provide them with necessary qualifications. You will develop and implement time-bound action plans with SMART targets to remove barriers to learning, establish and maintain supportive mentoring relationships, and undertake necessary student testing (e.g., Lucid).

The role involves supporting and encouraging pupils toward further education, apprenticeships, or employment.
