Personal Assistants - Galashiels - 2705

I'm a friendly, chatty young gentleman who lives in Galashiels with a mild learning/physical disability that requires me to be in a wheelchair. I'm looking for a PA for daily morning, lunchtime, teatime and bedtime visits when I'm at home, but I also like to go for days out/weekends away, so I need someone to support me with personal care and keep me safe, whilst encouraging as much independence as possible. This can be a job share between PAs or one PA, hours can be made full time.

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Support to get up, showered/washed/dried and dressed
• Support with toileting
• Prep and serve breakfast/lunch/dinner
• Support with bedtime clothing/personal care
• Escorted to appointments
• I also would like a PA to escort me to activities as and when needed
• Driver as I have a mobility car

Personal attributes

• Kind and caring with a good sense of humour
• Patient and friendly
• Practical and a good communicator
• Trustworthy and reliable
• Driving Licence essential
• Experience with moving and handling or willingness to learn

Hours

• Blocks of hours for personal care, activities, W/Ends away, Days Out, etc.
• Times are flexible and can be discussed with suitable candidates

The terms

• £14.20 per hour
• Expenses paid when out with the client
• 5.6 weeks annual leave on a pro rata basis
• PVG/References Required
