Would you like a rewarding role where you can make a real difference to one person's life?

I am a friendly woman living independently in Bristol with Multiple Sclerosis. I enjoy gardening, music, travel, arts and crafts and spending time in the community. I'm looking for a kind, reliable and caring Personal Assistant to become part of my small support team and help me continue living life as independently as possible.

This is much more than a caring role-it's an opportunity to build a genuine one-to-one working relationship, supporting me both practically and socially so that I can continue enjoying the things that are important to me.

If you enjoy helping people, are patient, dependable and have a positive outlook, I would love to hear from you.

Hours

20 guaranteed hours per week

Preferred working pattern:
  • Monday - 4 hours
  • Tuesday - 4 hours
  • Wednesday - 4 hours
  • Thursday - 4 hours
  • Friday - 4 hours

The exact start and finish times are flexible and can be agreed with the successful applicant.

Your role will include
  • Providing personal care when required, including assistance with washing and dressing.
  • Supporting me with light household duties such as laundry and keeping my home clean and tidy.
  • Shopping and helping with meal preparation.
  • Driving me to appointments and community activities.
  • Accompanying me on outings and helping me continue enjoying my hobbies and interests.
  • Supporting me with physiotherapy exercises where appropriate.
  • Offering companionship, encouragement and practical support to help me remain independent.

No two days are exactly the same, making this a varied and rewarding role.

About you Ideally you will be:
  • Kind, trustworthy and reliable.
  • A good communicator with a friendly and positive attitude.
  • Patient and respectful.
  • Happy working independently in a one-to-one role.
  • Someone who enjoys supporting another person to live life to the fullest.

Previous care experience is welcomed but not essential if you have the right values and a willingness to learn.

Essential requirements
  • Female applicant (this is a genuine occupational requirement because the role includes personal care).
  • Full UK driving licence and confident driver.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one if required).

This position is funded through a Direct Payment and paid through the PAYE payroll system.
