Personal Assistant for Young Female

Saturday 12hrs @ £17.50/hr in Medway - ME5 - Chatham - ME5

Job Description

A bright, intelligent, 25 year old female is looking for a kind, committed female Personal Assistant who is friendly and warm and easy to talk to with good conversation skills. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference by helping her live independently and supporting her overall wellbeing. Saturdays and cover shifts available too.

About Her

She is working towards developing her independence and employment. She enjoys creative activities such as painting and baking and daily walks with her 9 month old cockapoo, which help her feel calm and regulated. Her diagnoses include Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD), ADHD, epilepsy and suspected autism. She is seeking someone who can provide calm, reliable and structured support to help her feel safe and confident. Routine and familiarity are very important to her and she benefits from patient and consistent support.

Understanding Her Needs
  • EUPD affects her emotional regulation and PA awareness of anxiety triggers is required.
  • Ability to follow risk management plans offering positive behaviour support if her mental health deteriorates.
  • Autism can make adapting to change, decision-making and social situations challenging.
  • She benefits from emotional regulation support, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) techniques and daily walks.
  • Her seizures are infrequent, but she will require support during recovery if she occasionally has one.
Role Responsibilities
  • Prompting and motivating with daily routines, housework, meal preparation, medication and maintaining a safe home.
  • Supporting with dog care and daily dog walks.
  • Supporting her to engage in social activities and build friendships.
  • Assisting with admin tasks such as medical appointments, letters and household management.
  • Providing transport for necessary activities - a clean driving licence is essential.
  • Offering emotional reassurance and communication support.
  • Supporting her to make her own decisions.
  • Being physically active and alert, especially during moments of distress.
What She's Looking For

She values PAs who are:

  • Kind, calm and empathetic.
  • Positive and motivating.
  • Good conversational skills and a sense of humour.
  • Patient, reliable and physically active.
  • Open-minded and eager to learn.
  • Dog lovers and keen to interact with her dog.
  • Experience or understanding of autism, ADHD and mental health.
Requirements
  • Female applicants only (Equality Act 2010 exception).
  • Two references.
  • Enhanced DBS check (cost covered by Local Authority).
  • Willingness to learn and engage with complex mental health needs.
  • Driver with own car.
  • 12 hour shifts but split shifts considered.
  • Self-employes.

If you bring warmth, patience and a genuine desire to support others, she would love to hear from you.
