Personal Advisor Bexley08 - Social Care Non-Qualified

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experiencedPersonal Adviserto support young people aged18-25, including care leavers and young adults with complex vulnerabilities. The successful candidate will provide practical and emotional support, promote independence, and help young people achieve positive outcomes across housing, education, employment, finances and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Caseload Management:Manage an allocated caseload of young people aged 18-25, ensuring their individual needs are identified and appropriately supported.
  • Pathway Planning:Develop, implement and regularly review personalised Pathway Plans in partnership with young people and relevant professionals.
  • One-to-One Support:Provide consistent guidance, advocacy and practical support, including assistance with housing, budgeting, education, employment and independent living skills.
  • Safeguarding & Multi-Agency Working:Work collaboratively with social workers, local authorities, education providers, housing services and other external agencies to safeguard and support young people, particularly those with complex vulnerabilities.
  • Advocacy:Ensure young people's views, wishes and feelings remain central to planning and decision-making.
  • Record Keeping:Maintain accurate, timely and comprehensive case records and database activity in line with organisational and statutory requirements.
  • Promoting Independence:Encourage young people to develop the skills, confidence and resilience required to transition successfully into adulthood and independent living.
Candidate Requirements
  • Experience:Professional experience supporting vulnerable young people, care leavers or young adults.
  • Qualifications:A relevant Level 3 qualification, such asHealth & Social Care, Youth Work or a related subject, or equivalent relevant experience. GCSE-level education is typically required for this role.
  • Skills:Strong communication, advocacy, organisation and relationship-building skills, with the ability to manage a varied caseload effectively.
  • Safeguarding:A good understanding of safeguarding and the challenges faced by care leavers and vulnerable young adults.
  • DBS:Successful candidates will be required to hold or obtainEnhanced DBS clearance.
