Job Description

The Premier League Solutions team are responsible for delivering business critical data, systems and technology for the Premier League, Clubs and stakeholders. The team is currently part of the Strategy department and has three core areas of activity, data solutions, performance technology and football systems.

To manage this continually expanding activity, the team are looking to appoint a Performance Solutions Manager to join the team to lead on and support a variety of systems and data projects, with the initial priority being the development and maintenance of the Premier League's business critical data and video distribution platform and matchday performance network, with consideration given to League and Club performance technology developments and innovation.

The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for 'DVMS' (Data and Video Management System) platform administration and development, asset distribution, product evolution, vendor review and supporting an increasing number of performance and officiating services the Solutions Team deliver across the Premier League, our Clubs, other League competitions and multiple Stakeholders.

The role
  • Management of the DVMS platform and 'DVMS Live' including system administration and security management.
  • Analyse DVMS usage through the recording & processing of appropriate management information.
  • Assess, consider and execute development options to ensure DVMS is current and world leading.
  • Management of the Premier League matchday performance network across the Premier League, EFL and key football stakeholders.
  • Management of contracted services such as the Premier League Tactical Feed, Performance Network and the GLT testing certification program.
  • Liaise with and support all third party providers including Hudl, Hawk Eye, Sony Sports and Genius Sports in the delivery of services.
  • Assess all tools that provide data, video and analytical services for Clubs and the potential implementation or centralisation of them by the Premier League and associated competitions.
  • Contribute to a roadmap of systems enhancements that deliver continuous improvement for stakeholders.
  • Support the innovation of Performance Technology and the Football Strategy.
  • As part of the Solutions team foster relevant collaborative and operational relationships with other leagues, governing bodies and major world sports.
  • Engage and support Football DataCo, a joint venture between the Premier League and EFL to commercialise data, on platform strategies and football data alignment.
  • Support the implementation of a new major League wide data management and alignment project with a focus on the distribution of football data.
  • Provide systems, technology and management support to the Solutions team and Football department.
Requirements for the role
  • Experience of live and post match workflows in a Club performance and technology environment.
  • Demonstrable experience with systems administration and development.
  • Familiarity with data and video distribution infrastructure and integrations.
  • Experience of technical conversations and translating user requirements to development teams and third party providers.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple workstreams.
  • Delivery of various time sensitive projects on time with clear expectation management.
  • Strong attention to detail and highly motivated to deliver all work to an excellent standard.
  • Understanding of global trends in sports and football technology.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a proactive approach.
