Job Description

Performance Insights Analyst - Up to £41,000 pa - Nottingham/London/Leeds

We're looking for a Performance Insights Analyst to join a Debt Services Data & Analytics team. You'll use data to help public and private sector clients understand how their debt portfolios are performing and where they can improve collections, recoveries and customer outcomes.

You'll work with internal teams and clients to answer practical questions. Which recovery strategies are working across different portfolios? Where has performance changed, and what might explain it? How can the team measure whether a change is improving outcomes for customers? You'll turn that analysis into clear recommendations and help teams track the impact of the changes they make.

What you'll do

  • Analyse collections and recoveries data to identify trends, investigate changes in performance and pinpoint opportunities for improvement.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand what they need to know, agree what to measure and design analysis that answers their questions.
  • Present findings to internal teams and external clients, explaining what the data shows and recommending practical next steps.
  • Monitor customer outcomes alongside collections performance to understand the wider impact of recovery strategies.
  • Help develop consistent standards and processes for measuring recoveries performance across client portfolios.
  • Collaborate with the wider Data & Analytics team to develop and deliver improvements for clients.

What you'll bring

  • Hands-on experience working with databases and preparing, querying or manipulating datasets using tools such as SQL, Python, R or Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the attention to detail to check your work and investigate unexpected results.
  • The ability to translate a business objective into a clear analytical question and explain your findings to people with different levels of technical knowledge.
  • Confidence building relationships with stakeholders and using evidence to influence decisions.
  • Experience delivering accurate, high-quality work to tight deadlines.

Experience designing, delivering or improving collections strategies would be an advantage.

A degree in a numerical subject such as mathematics or statistics, or equivalent experience, is also desirable.

Salary, benefits and interview process

  • Salary - Up to £41,000 per year, with no bonus.
  • Benefits - Contributory pension, healthcare, life cover, income protection, 26 days' holiday plus a day off for your birthday, and the option to buy or sell holiday.
