Birmingham City Council is transforming how we deliver our Street Scene services. This role sits within our Operations, Performance & Compliance team, supporting the data, insight and compliance foundations that drive real operational change.
We're looking for an organised and analytical Performance & Compliance Officer to join us on our transformation journey. This is a key role supporting the delivery of accurate performance reporting, robust compliance processes and continuous improvement across the service.
Working closely with the Senior Performance & Compliance Officer, you'll help shape performance frameworks, contribute to audits, monitor compliance activity and provide high quality insights that support effective decision making.

To thrive in this role, you'll bring:- Experience working with performance data, compliance activity, or monitoring processes in a busy environment.
- Strong analytical skills, with the confidence to interpret data and turn it into meaningful insights.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. You'll be comfortable presenting information clearly and confidently.
- Proficiency in data tools such as Excel and Power BI, with the ability to work with large or complex datasets.
- Real attention to detail, ensuring data is accurate, reliable and well presented.
- A collaborative mindset, able to work well with colleagues, follow guidance and maintain confidentiality.
- A sound understanding of compliance and data protection, and how they apply in day to day operations.
- Qualifications or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Data Management, Compliance or a related field.

As a Performance & Compliance Officer, you'll be at the heart of how we measure, improve and deliver high quality services for Birmingham. You will be
- Producing accurate, timely performance reports, working closely with senior colleagues.
- Supporting the development and rollout of performance and compliance frameworks that shape how our services operate.
- Gathering, validating and analysing key performance data to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
- Ensuring reporting processes meet organisational standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conducting compliance checks and preparing clear, well structured documentation for internal audits.
- Identifying areas of non compliance, helping to shape corrective actions and monitoring their progress.
- Maintaining strong data integrity through consistent, high quality control measures.
- Working collaboratively across teams, ensuring everyone understands and aligns to the performance metrics.
- Responding to queries on performance and compliance matters, offering clear, accurate guidance.
- Contributing to continuous improvement, suggesting enhancements to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our services.
