Joining Sainsbury's as a People Operations Advisor means becoming an integral part of a dedicated team within the People Division - People Services.
You're looking for an admin focused role, where you'll deliver several of the day to day processes to support colleagues across the business, You want it to be rewarding too, where you'll feel like you've made a difference. Talking to the family of a recently deceased colleague - which is a key part of the job - or administering the request to source specialist equipment that'll support a colleague to do their job can leave you feeling exactly that way.
Being upfront, you also appreciate that not all admin tasks are exciting, some can be the complete opposite, and you'll be okay with those parts of the job too.
What you'll doAs a People Operations Advisor at Sainsbury's your job will include:
- Talking to the manager and family of a recently deceased colleague, providing support. You'll then look after the administration of collating information and processing of death in service payments, collaborating with internal teams to make sure we're compliant.
- Guiding managers and colleagues who are processing workplace adjustment orders and working with external providers to administer the sourcing of specialist equipment to enable colleagues to meet their full potential in the workplace.
- Regularly reviewing colleague facing Ask HR, our self-service HR knowledge portal, written content, making suggestions for improvements.
- Administering our long service reward programme, producing letters, distributing rewards and answering queries.
- Acting as an SME for service escalations, providing support to your manager to resolve queries without further escalation.
- Making sure physical records for our colleagues are maintained accurately and are easily accessible.
To be successful in the People Operations Advisor job you're:
- An administrator at heart, with an interest in HR, but are able to take that skillset up a notch.
- Comfortable talking to people, especially following the sad situation where somebody has died, and you're able to display empathy.
- A strong communicator, both verbally and in writing, having an ability to make the complicated appear simple.
- Somebody who has a basic working knowledge of the Microsoft suite including Word and Excel - you know your way around a basic formula such as XLOOKUP.
- Flexible, and happy to give new things a go, adapting to different situations and business needs.
- A details person, comfortable with asking questions to make sure you've got the full picture
- Customer focused, always wanting to deliver the best service possible
- Delivering a specialist service
- HR policies and processes, and you're familiar with bringing them to life for others
- HR Specialist administration of Oracle HCM
