We are looking for a People Advisor to join our dedicated team and help shape a thriving, inclusive, and supportive culture for our staff and wider school community.
GR3 (£27,254 - £33,699) per annum, 36.5 hrs per week, All Year Round.
Who we areWashwood Heath Multi Academy Trust (WHMAT) is a caring and inclusive group of 7 academies (1 All Through, 2 secondary and 4 primaries) serving a diverse, multicultural community in East Birmingham. We employ about 740 staff and support 4,500 young people across a 3.5 mile radius.
What the role involves- Provide end to end support for recruitment, including advertising, shortlisting, interviewing and onboarding.
- Carry out pre employment checks using the HR Information System (HRIS) and maintain compliance records such as DBS and Single Central Record (SCR).
- Assist with payslip queries and liaise with the external payroll provider to ensure accurate payment.
- Manage employee relations queries, including probation and lower level employee relations cases.
- Support staff and stakeholders across WHMAT schools, travelling between sites as required.
- Promote wellbeing, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (WEDI) initiatives within the Trust.
- Prior HR experience is preferable but not essential; training will be provided.
- Excellent administrative skills with strong attention to detail.
- IT literacy and proficiency in Word, Excel and applicant tracking systems.
- Self motivated with the ability to prioritise and manage workload autonomously.
- Positive can do attitude and comfortable working in a fast paced environment.
- Interest in WEDI and wellbeing matters.
- Willingness to travel to all WHMAT sites.
- Experience in all stages of the recruitment process and key administrative processes that keep our students safe.
- Exposure to payroll, staff onboarding, and employee relations.
