The role
Mrs Wordsmith is seeking a mission-driven Pedagogy Leader to further the academic and pedagogical thread across everything we do. This role is central to ensuring that all of our products are grounded in strong pedagogy and deliver evidence-based learning outcomes. Working across departments, you'll be involved in high-impact new and existing projects, guide curriculum and research efforts, and represent the brand externally at events and in school communities. You will be the connective tissue that keeps our work academically rigorous, operationally sound, and meaningfully connected to educators and kids
Responsibilities:
- Lead the curriculum/pedagogy development in all of our products, aiming to keep Mrs Wordsmith at the cutting edge of education, ensuring that our resources are pedagogically rigorous.
- Lead the instructional design involved in the video games to make sure our game-based learning approach is pedagogically optimized
- Work with the data scientists and developers to ensure our word database captures linguistic data with accuracy and helps the content creators work more effectively
- Oversee projects from conception to release to ensure their alignment with best practices in pedagogy
- Liaise with academic advisors and teachers to gather feedback and plan efficacy studies testing the learning impact of our products
- Liaise with consultants to gather insights around areas we want to expand to, such as ESL, Social Emotional Learning, alignment with different curricula/localisation, and use these insights to help plan our strategies around product development
- Be Mrs Wordsmith's external pedagogy authority and advocate, travelling to represent Mrs Wordsmith pedagogy approach at Events, Activations, Conferences
- Publish own research or third party research reviews on our various media channels on topics linked to literacy
- Collaborate with Mrs Wordsmith schools and marketing teams to support relationships with educators
Requirements:
- Proven experience and background in education; expertise in English instruction, literacy, linguistics, and/or curriculum development strongly preferred.
- Strong conceptual and strategic thinking
- A genuine passion for language and education
- An affinity for our brand values of inclusivity and innovation
