Role Overview
The Payments Solutions Architect is responsible for designing, shaping, and governing secure, scalable payment solutions across the bank's payments landscape. This role bridges business, technology, and regulatory requirements to deliver resilient, compliant, and customer-focused payment capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end payment architectures covering domestic and international payment schemes (eg Faster Payments, CHAPS, SEPA, SWIFT).
- Partner with business, product, and delivery teams to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Define solution blueprints, integration patterns, and non-functional requirements (availability, performance, security, resilience).
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, risk, and security standards, including fraud prevention and data protection.
- Provide architectural assurance across delivery, supporting reviews, design approvals, and technical decision-making.
Skills & Experience
- Strong Experience in payments architecture within a banking or financial services environment.
- Deep understanding of payment processing, clearing and settlement, and payment messaging standards (ISO 8583, ISO 20022).
- Proven ability to design complex, high-availability systems integrated across multiple platforms.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
