The Patient Safety Administrator will assist the Patient Safety Intelligence Manager in providing an efficient, accurate and timely patient safety management process.
This is an exciting time to join this small team as the Trust has recently transitioned to a new Local Risk Management System (LRMS) - Radar.
The post holder will ensure confidentiality at all times in adhering to the Information Governance Policy within the Trust and be expected to work flexibly across the wider team in order to support learning, improvement and assurance work.
The post holder will manage their own workload on a day to day basis within agreed objectives and will need to have an ability to determine priorities, deal with conflicting tasks and achieve deadlines.
As part of the Patient Safety team the post holder will provide a friendly and approachable service for all users, internally and externally and support the Divisional teams with the incident management process as and when required.
Main duties of the job- The post holder will ensure that accurate data checking procedures are followed within the Local Risk Management System e.g. Datix/Radar.
- The post holder will communicate with all levels of staff following any queries/concerns with the LRMS incident management process escalating any concerns to the Patient Safety Intelligence Manager or Patient Safety team.
- The post holder is responsible for extracting and manipulating information from the LRMS in order to fulfil basic requirements of the Trust.
- Analyse data extracted from the LRMS, identify themes and trends and support the Patient Safety Intelligence Manager in the delivery of basic reports.
- Respond to routine telephone enquiries in a professional manner.
- Assist with general LRMS admin requests including but not limited to password resets, new account creations, etc.
- Support the Divisional teams with the incident management process as and when required.
- Monitoring the central email account and responding appropriately using own initiative and escalating as necessary.
- Five GCSEs, including English and Mathematics, at Grade C or above.
- Experience of working within a complex administrative role and office environment.
- Experience of providing full administration/facilitation of meetings to a Committee/Group, including production of an agenda, taking minutes, etc.
- Experience of working in an environment with minimal supervision.
- Able to demonstrate extensive use and excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (e.g. Access, Excel and Word) to produce fairly complex documents, analysis and regular reports.
- Working knowledge of Local Risk Management Systems (LRMS) e.g. Datix/Radar.
- Awareness of own limitations.
- Willingness to undertake further training as required and evidence of ongoing commitment to personal development.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates the ability to work under pressure.
- Demonstrates the ability to prioritise own workload and work with minimal supervision.
- Systematic and methodical approach to work.
- Accurate typing and advanced document formatting skills.
- Ability to proof read and pay attention to detail.
